The second Ramon Breakthrough contest has ended.

We would like to thank all contestants. It is most reassuring to meet exceptional Israelis which are highly talented and motivated to benefit the Israeli society as a whole.

Congratulations for Maya Efraty and Michel David, the winners of the 2012 contest. The prize - a full scholarship to the 2012 Graduate Studies Program (GSP12) at Singularity University in California worth $30,000.

The three contestants who also made it to the finals received a $10,000 worth software package by Autodesk.

The Ramon Foundation and the Ministry of Science & Technology are sponsoring a contest designed to identify innovative thinkers and their projects. This contest is open to academics, scientists, and entrepreneurs from Israel, who are ready to transform their innovative ideas into reality. This is an exciting opportunity to present your ideas for the future.

Contest Rules

Candidates

The contest is intended for new, independent ventures and innovations.

  • Contest is intended for individuals or teams.
  • A candidate cannot be a member in more than one team.
  • Team size is unlimited, though teams of 2-4 are recommended.

Concept and Project Types

  • A project outcome will change for the good the life's of 1,000,000 people in a time period of no more than 5 years from project commence.
  • A project should be social or scientific and should be about harnessing technology to achieve such a goal.
  • The project must be original, novel, or otherwise completely new product or service.
